Pinterest Guided Search for Agents

Pinterest has introduced a new search feature called Guided Search. Guided Search has been developed to help users explore the social network, whether they know exactly what they want to look at, or if they are just looking around. Find how to get the most out of this feature:

What is Guided Search?

Guided Search gives users keyword suggestions when you enter a search term on Pinterest. This can help further narrow down what to look for. If a search is vague and you’re more interested in exploration and discovery than finding a specific thing, then Pinterest really helps.

How it works

Type your search term into Pinterest’s search bar. You’ll see “Guides” pop up below the search bar. These guides will help find keywords to add to your search. Guides are scrollable; users just have to click on the arrow at the far right of their display to see more options.

Example of Pinterest's Guided Search
Guided Search includes guides that pop up below the search bar.

Pinterest’s Guided Search really shines as a visual search engine for inspiration. For instance, if you’re a real estate who specializes in beachfront properties and you are looking for a new marketing images to use, you can start your Guided Search by entering “beach homes” and then adding Guides until you come across the images that suit you.

Tips and tricks

Guided Search can lead to new pinners to follow.

Pinterest’s Guided Search results are individual pins by default, but you can also choose to view relevant pinners as well. Seeing these relevant pinners is a great way to find interesting new people to follow, or related boards. This provides a fantastic way to see curated content that will be interesting to you and your social media efforts.

Simply click the tabs that appear above the search results to flip between the different viewing options. Users can also use Guided Search to search their own boards — click the “Your Pins” tab to look within content you’ve previously pinned.
